UK University Professional Music Diploma Programme in Performance or Teaching


This course is designed to give talented students a chance to obtain a UK University Professional Music Diploma (RQF4 to RQF6 - UK Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 4 - 6) in either performance or teaching in their own choice of an instrument at a very affordable price without taking the required academic subjects offered in universities and other Colleges of Music.

AVAILABLE COURSES & DURATION

1. DipLCM – Diploma of the London College of Music of the University of West London. Performance or Teaching

-     RQF4 (UK Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 4) OFQUAL Accredited

-     Associate Degree 1 Equivalent

-     Duration: One Year, 2 semesters.


2. ALCM – Associate Diploma of the London College of Music of the University of West London. Performance or Teaching

- RQF5 (UK Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 5) OFQUAL Accredited

- Associate Degree 2 Equivalent

- Duration: One Year and Six Months, 3 Semesters


3. LLCM – Licentiate Diploma of the London College of Music of the University of West London. Performance or Teaching

- RQF6 (UK Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 6) OFQUAL Accredited

- Bachelor’s Degree Equivalent

- Duration: Two Years and 6 Months, 5 Semesters


Available concentrations:

Piano, Pop Vocals, Music Theatre, Guitar, Violin, Flute, Saxophone, Conducting (Choir, band, orchestra), Music Composition and Arranging (With Music Tech). Other concentrations may be available by request.


Course Modules

(Total full course duration achieving all diplomas – 2 Years & 6 Months)

This is a progressive course. You may choose to enroll for DipLCM only for one year or continue until ALCM for one year and six months or finish all courses to achieve the level 6 bachelor’s degree equivalent for a total of two years and six months


1. (2 semesters) DipLCM – Diploma of the London College of Music of the University of West London. Performance or Teaching

• Music Theory – Weekly session (1 hour)

• Music Composition & Arranging – Weekly session (1hour)

• Practical Music Performance, Aural Skills & Sight reading - Weekly session (1hour)

• Music Education, Effective Teaching Strategies & Teaching Practicum (For teaching diploma  students only during 2nd semester)


2. (1 semester) ALCM – Associate Diploma of the London College of Music of the University of West London. Performance or Teaching

• Music History – Weekly session (1 hour)

• Music Technology – Weekly session (1hour)

• Practical Music Performance, Aural Skills & Sight reading - Weekly session (1hour)

• Essay writing – Every other week session (45 minutes) (For Teaching Diploma Students Only)

• Teaching Practicum (For Teaching Diploma Students Only)


3. (2 semesters) LLCM – Licentiate Diploma of the London College of Music of the University of West London. Performance or Teaching

• Practical Music Performance, Aural Skills & Sight reading – 2X Weekly session (1hour)

• Harmony & Counterpoint - Weekly session (1 hour)

• Dissertation writing - Every other week session (45 minutes) (For Teaching Diploma Students Only)

• Essay writing – Every other week session (45 minutes) (For Teaching Diploma Students Only)

• Teaching Practicum (For Teaching Diploma Students Only)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS


COURSE SCHEDULE 1st semester

• Classes will start on the 31st of July 2023.

• Admission Deadline: 17th of July 2023.

• Maximum of 16 students per class.

• One on one lesson for the Major choice of instrument or study.

Tuesday 6:00 – 7:00PM Jakarta Indonesia Time.

Wednesday 6:00 – 7:00PM Jakarta Indonesia Time.


EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AFTER GRADUATION

•There is a high demand for competitive music teachers and performers these days. Every year, there are very few graduates in music courses. That is the reason why many employers these days both here and abroad had no choice but to hire undergraduates or non-educated musicians.

Music Diploma graduates may work as

• Music teachers are in demand for individual private music lessons. Graduates can also be a music teacher for private and public schools, universities, and colleges. Music teachers can also be a conductor or performer to so many hotels, parks, theatre, music organizations, orchestra, band, Church and other religious organizations and professional choirs.

• Successful music teaching diploma graduates who are proven exceptional may have a chance to formally work at Big Ben International Academy Jakarta or to other affiliated music schools.

• Graduates of music performance diplomas can work as pianist, violinist, guitarist, singer, arranger, or composer to so many hotels, parks, theatre, music organizations, orchestra, band, Church and other religious organizations and professional choirs. Music performers can also teach in private individual lessons.


THE LONDON COLLEGE OF MUSIC (LCM)

LCM is one of the largest specialist Music and Performing Arts institutes in the United Kingdom, dating back to 1887. In 1991, LCM became part of the educational institution which was eventually to become the University of West London.

External examinations have been awarded by the London College of Music since the institution's founding in 1887. These were at first in Music, but since then have expanded to include a large set of Drama and Communication examinations in subjects including speech and drama, acting, oral communication, verse speaking and professional communication. Examinations are held throughout the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and at many overseas centres and are unique in the graded examinations sector in being awarded by a university.
